How Coaching
Works
The nutrition coaching process is really straightforward. The first step is always a 15 minute Q&A, which we use to determine if my services and your needs align. (And to get you rolling if they do!)
What does a nutrition counselor even do?
As a nutrition counselor, the work we do together is highly dependent on what you need. Because I approach coaching from a bio-individual perspective, each client’s treatment plan is tailored to their specific starting point, health needs, and long-term wellness goals.
I do not diagnose, prescribe, or assign you nutritional orders or a medical diet.
I do help you set goals, help you understand your doctor or nutritionist’s directions, and help you take action on medical advice you’ve been given. I help you set goals, I keep you accountable, and I support you as you tackle obstacles that are preventing you from building and maintaining a healthy life.
How can I help you?
-
Nutrition Coaching is the heart and soul of my practice. As a nutrition coach, I work with clients who thrive best with support and accountability, plus a practical and bio-individual approach to building an eating plan that works for you.
Private, 1:1 Nutrition Coaching comes in packages. This is because working with a nutrition coach and seeing progress takes time. The shortest package I offer is 3-months (12 sessions, for the cost of 10 individual sessions). I also offer 6-month (24 sessions for the price of 20 individual sessions) and 12-month (48 sessions for the price of 40 individual sessions).
Weekly 45-minute coaching session in which client and coach review progress, discuss challenges, problem solve, and set goals for the coming week.
Complementary Intake Session
One (1) 90-minute session in which the client and coach review the client's history, goals, medical directives, and questions. This is the first meeting that clients have with the nutrition coach, and does not count against the total number of sessions in your package.
Meal Plan Support
Guidance and troubleshooting in implementing your nutritionist or doctor's directives in your everyday life. This includes: support understanding and controlling cravings, snacks, and a tutorial on my tried and true meal planning method.
-
If you know that real-time support from your nutrition coach is crucial to your accountability and success in making real, sustainable changes in your lifestyle, this package upgrade was designed with you in mind. It is offered to complement each coaching package.
Daily Check-ins
The coach will check in with client daily for accountability support and to answer questions the client may have.
Private Texting Support
This is private 1:1 text support offered from 7am - 7pm daily, If you find yourself with questions while you're grocery shopping, making smart swaps, or tracking food, this is a chance to text questions to your coach in real-time.
Complimentary Cooking Class
Free admission to my monthly cooking class that teaches clients how to customize meals to your nutritional needs and flavor preferences.

What happens during a coaching session?
-
The first thing we do during our sessions is take a deep breath and catch up a little. A Bio-Individual approach means that we look at your life holistically, not just what you eat. We will, of course, review your nutrition. But we’ll also take a look at the other things happening in your life to check on your whole-person health.
-
This is when we talk about wins and misses during the week. If there are obstacles that are standing in your way, we’ll brainstorm ways to get you over, around, or through those challenges and keep you moving forward toward your goal.
-
We close by reviewing your long-term goals, and talking about what steps you’re going to take this week to get you closer.
Step 1 - Health History Review
The first step on any journey with a Nutrition Coach is to schedule a Health History Review. Anyone can request to schedule a Health History Review, and there’s an online form to fill out ahead of the appointment that will serve as a baseline for your starting point and future goals.
Step 2 - Select a Package
If you determine that my services and your goals are a good fit for each other, the next step is deciding how long you’d like to work together. I also offer an additional Support Booster for clients who want a more hands-on approach.
Step 3 - Coaching Sessions
During our weekly coaching sessions, we’ll review your weekly work. This means talking through your food diaries, checking in on progress toward your goals, and working through any obstacles you’re dealing with.
Step 4 - Classes
Clients who choose the Support Bonus automatically get free access to my monthly online cooking classes, but all clients are welcome to register for a spot. Each month I teach clients how to cook a dish that can be customized hundreds of different ways.
Step 5 - Review & Assess
As we near the end of our work together, we’ll take a look at the progress you’ve made. If you feel like you’re ready to maintain your lifestyle, awesome! We’ll get you organized with the tools and resources you will need.
Step 6 - Maintenance
Everyone needs a little extra help now and then. For clients who have completed their initial coaching sessions but need a little refresher, or a bit of additional support, or even just a pep talk, Single Sessions are available to help you get back on track.
If you need or want additional support between coaching sessions, my Support Bundle is designed for clients who want to work together daily.
